Frequently Asked Questions

I didn’t receive one of my daily emails for the 30 Days of Art Journaling class. Can you resend it?

Due to the high workload involved, we do not resend missed emails. You can find PDF copies of every single prompt in the files section of the 30 Days of Art Journaling Facebook group.

Can I share your class/daily emails with my friends or my book club/church group/etc?

All Determined to Shine classes (free and paid) are copyrighted and for personal use only. If you want to use them in a group with others (which I highly encourage), please have each person that’s interested sign up on the website. I want Determined to Shine to stay around for a really long time, and in order for that to happen, it’s vital that class content (free and paid) isn’t shared with others who have not registered for the class.

How long do I have to complete my classes once I’ve paid for them?

As long as you need! Your access never expires, and you’ll be able to login and access the content for as long as Determined to Shine exists.

Is there a way for me to connect with other students?

Each class has a private Facebook group. Groups are completely confidential and have a no-negativity, no-bullying policy.

What if I’m not an artist? Am I going to need a lot of supplies?

Even if you are a total beginner, there is something for you in each class. There are a lot of neat projects and techniques, but all you really need to get started is a journal and a cheap set of markers or colored pencils. Every project has multiple options and formats shown so you can customize each project to match your personal style and use the supplies you already have on hand. Projects are great for beginners and experts alike.

Can I watch class videos on my smartphone or tablet?

Yes! Our online classroom is completely mobile-responsive so you can watch on any device, any time. Switch between devices with ease – your class progress automatically updates on each device you use.

Do your classes serve as a substitute for therapy or medication?

No. Determined to Shine classes are designed to inspire, uplift, and motivate. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are dealing with emotional or physical distress, please contact a licensed therapist or doctor. If you find yourself in emotional crisis or do not feel safe, please call for help or go to your nearest emergency room. In the United States, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

What if I want a refund?

Determined to Shine has a strict no-refund policy. Due to the nature of digital products, class purchases are nonrefundable and returns are not accepted – just as movies can’t be returned once watched and clothing can’t be returned once worn. Unfortunately, I am not able to give refunds.
